Ég Svona Eins Baasch
Baasch is an experimental electronic pop musician from Warsaw, Poland. The title of the album "Simple Dark Romantic Love Songs" is actually a perfect description of Baasch's music, a minimalistic and very mellowly dissonant album of his beautifully awkward synths, his addictively distorted beats, and his voice which goes perfectly with the music. I suggest "Animals as it's my favorite from the album.

Annar Band Sem Mér Líkar, Alphabet Backwards
Alphabet Backwards - "Free To Roam" (mp3 save link as)
On soundcloud Alphabet Backwards likes to describe their music as "joyous technicolour indie pop", which is actually probably the best way to describe it. all of it is very upbeat and fun with 80's synths, acoustic guitars, melodicas, and a lovely duet between the two singers. Enjoy peeps

Tom Eddy, Færa Okkur Von Um Ameríkumaður Tónlist
Although last i heard of from Tom Eddy, he was in Paris, France; he is quite american (i think). Straight from Seattle, Washington the birthplace of grunge comes folk boy with a soft voice. The song i'm presenting to you is his newest demo which is awesome. i'll just let his wonderful music do the rest of the talking since i seem to just be rambling on today.

Vinsamlega Hitta Nýja Vini Mínum Landwhale
So earlier today in Paper Garden Records' TT.FM room i made a new friend by the name of The Landwhale. whose music was quite interesting to me. he introduced me to his music with a track called "Coming Up Slowly" which was actually a very ambient mashup with the most recognizable vocals being from "The Funeral by Band of Horses, it was quite impressive and a treat to the ears. His style incorporates some RnB beats with some video game synths and whatever else he'd like to create.

Vinir Mínir Frá Plötufyrirtæki
Paper Garden Records is by far the friendliest and nicest record label on the planet they're willing to get to know all of their fans on a personal level, which is COOL. but a good record label is defined not simply by how nice and friendly they are no they're also defined by their music which of course is top notch stuff. many of the bands they sign have sort of classically trained background but with crazy awesome pop hooks. Because i love them so much i've gotten 2 free CD's (both from little contests the have from time to time) from them which was Little Tybee's Humorous to Bees and Big Tree's This New Year. I Figured since i love them so much i'll post about them:
Little Tybee - "Nero" (mp3 save link as)
All of the musicians in Little Tybee are highly trained and masters of their craft but the thing that caught my eye (and of course my ear) was the guy with the 8-string guitar, it takes a lot of skill to play an instrument like that especially with how he plays it and i must commend him and all the other members, this was an album beautiful both from an analytical point of view and a just listenin' kind of view :) i believe almost anyone of any age could enjoy this album.
Big Tree - Storm King from Big Tree on Vimeo.
this album was slow and beautiful just how i like my music.there's definately some elements of jazz folk and pop in there.i got the cd from writing a story about a place here it is in all it's glory:
"i never really get to go anywhere but right next to my house there is a big forest that i'd sometimes walk into when i was younger it seemed so mysterious like an ever-changing maze with some sort of native American wizard at the helm. sometimes when i would walk through i would hear a flute or the sound of large footsteps as if coming from a large animal or something. i've also found many strange things like an old car with bullet holes all over one side many boat wreckages places where houses used to be, moldy beds, cracked sinks, lots of beer bottles and many open cans of preservatives. i've tasted the sweetest mulberries from a tree i cannot find anymore. i've found a place with the forest where plants like pine trees and bushes grow out of pure stone with no dirt. and the strangest part is that most of the forest is in this HUGE ditch that looks as if god came down and carved it out."
some more tracks from PGR:
The City and Horses - Dum Dee Dum (featuring Katie Costello) by Paper Garden Records
Big Tree - Seattle Bound by Paper Garden Records
Dad Rocks! - Weapons (featuring Charles Spearin of Broken Social Scene) by Paper Garden Records

Vicky - "Blizzard" (mp3 save link as)
description stolen from Icelandic Music Export:
"Vicky is an Icelandic rock band, combined with 5 young people, 4 girls and one drummerboy. The music is not easily defined but Pichforkmedia might have described it best as "pop-metal". You'll be the judge. A hole lotta lot has happened since they accidentally started jamming one night in downtown Reykjavik, they have played almost non stop. Vicky has been a part of the last two Iceland Airwaves festivals with good responses. In may 2008 they first played outside of Iceland when they traveled to China. The band have been invited again this year to be a part of the biggest rock festival in China, Midi festival. In september Vicky was invited to Play:stl festival in st. Louis in the US. They have been invited back there in February this year. In October the band released their debut album, Pull Hard witch has received good responses from critics and listeners. Their first single, Blizzard, was two weeks on the top of Icelands biggest rock channel, xið 977. The station also listed the song as nr 7 of the 100 best songs of the year. Everything is looking very good for there future. Just listen and hear the sound of eternal sunshine!"
I however just think that Vicky is amazing "Blizzard" is a perfect song. i generally can't stand anything even relatively "metal" but this right here changes that. for one thing her voice is perfect for what she does even when she is screaming at the top of her lungs she still has wonderful pitch and tone.
only thing for now next post WILL have more than just one song and they'll all be amazing.
